Construction began last month on a new indoor pool at the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center on Broadway in Ossining.
The new pool will cost about $6 million and will have six swimming lanes. A retractable roof will also be included and will allow for open-air swimming in the summer. The Ossining High School swim team may also use the pool for practice.
Construction should be completed by Memorial Day of next year. The existing 30-year-old outdoor pool at the site will be paved over eventually and made into a parking lot.
