1263

It is with profound sadness & regret the Ossining Fire Department (OFD) announces the sudden passing of Foreman Andrew J. Panken of Washington Hook & Ladder Co. #2 (Tower Ladder 42). Andrew, known to many as “P2”, suddenly left us at the way to early age of 27.

Andrew joined the OFD in August of 2015 following in the footstep’s of his twin brother Daniel. Like Dan, Andrew would once again follow in his footsteps joining the Officer’s ranks in 2018 as 2nd Assistant Foreman progressing to Foreman this past May. Andrew is a graduate of Ossining High School from the class of 2011 known for being an outstanding Wrestler.

Services for Andrew will take place Friday, December 18, 2020 at St. Augustine’s Church. We ask all to please keep the Panken Family in your thoughts & prayers and respect their privacy in this extremely difficult time. We extend our sincere sympathy to Andrew’s family and friends and hope you find comfort in one another getting through these weeks to come.

On behalf of the Officers & Members of the OFD, we also wish to extend our thanks and appreciation to the many agencies, friends, and family that have expressed their condolences to us via social media, phone, e-mail, etc.

The Fire Service might change often to adapt to our current world and the many obstacles we face, but the traditions, core values, and selflessness can never be broken.
