A man was stabbed during an argument over a parking spot in Ossining on Tuesday, police said.

Ossining resident Anthony Acosta is accused of stabbing the man in the parking lot at the Cortlandt Ridge apartment complex around 10:00 p.m. Acosta appears to have stabbed the man after a confrontation over a parking space on the property, which is surrounded by Van Cortlandt Avenue and Claremont Gardens, Ossining Police Chief Kevin Sylvester said.

Acosta, 39, was arrested soon afterward and charged with first-degree assault, a felony. The other man was seriously injured and was hospitalized after the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps possibly saved his life, the police said in a Facebook post.

Sylvester would not release any other details on the man who was stabbed. Acosta was being held pending arraignment in Ossining Town Court.

Anyone who may have seen or heard the incident is asked to call detectives at 914-941-4099.
