It is on this date May 4th, 1812, the then Washington Engine Company was formed as the first form of fire protection in then Sing Sing New York. In the 1890’s this would change to Washington Hook & Ladder Co. #2.
We at the OFD would like to wish a “Happy Birthday” to Westchester’s Oldest Fire Company. This date also marks the anniversary as the beginning of the Fire Service here in Ossining. Here’s to many more years of dedicated service filled with Pride, Honor, Tradition, & Valor to our community.
