The Forget-Me-Nots With David Ray At Ossining Library

1552

The Ossining Public Library, now marking its 125 year of service to the community, is pleased to present two area musical favorites, The Forget-Me-Nots and David Ray, in concert on Sunday, September 30th, 2018 from 02:00 – 04:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Budarz Theater, located at 53 Croton Avenue on the lower level. Admission is free, but seating is limited.

This performance will showcase a musical alliance between The Forget-Me-Nots and a favorite musical pal, David Ray. Featuring bright, lush, hand-made harmony and acoustic instruments, The Forget-Me-Nots’ distinctive voices explore Linda Ronstadt, Motown, traditional folk, the Beatles, and hits from the 70s to today. A growing roster of original songs look at pivotal life moments, changing circumstances, family, and serendipity. A regular presence at Westchester community events and open mics, these three accomplished singer/performers blend their talents together to make music that celebrates life’s joys, determination and hope.

The Forget-Me-Nots will be joined by former New York City cab driver, bouncer, and actor, David Ray, whose deep well of “cinematic” songs incorporate the blues and singer/songwriter traditions. His works have been sung by artists as varied as Grammy-winner Shawn Colvin and Dove Award winner Kathy Troccoli, and he’s shared the stage with Ossining’s own KJ Denhert, along with Roger McGuinn, Lucy Kaplanski, Marshall Crenshaw, Joan Osborne, Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, and many more.

CDs and download cards of their recently released recording, “Live From the Steamer Gallery”, will be available for sale after the show.
