Art Exhibit In Ossining

“Maidens and Madonnas,” watercolor paintings by Sr. Elizabeth Slenker, OP, a Sparkill Dominican, will open at the Mariandale Chapel Art Gallery with a reception on Sunday, December 3, from 02:00 – 04:00 p.m., and will be on display through Saturday, December 30.

Sr. Elizabeth Slenker is an artist with expertise in photography, painting, stained glass, graphic design, computer design, drawing and woodworking. She holds an MA and MFA from the University of Notre Dame, an MA in Art Therapy from the College of New Rochelle, and an MS in Family Counseling from Iona College. Sr. Elizabeth taught in the Humanities Division at St. Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkill, NY for twenty years.

Her philosophy is that by bringing awareness of the beauty of all life forms through her art, an importance and respect will be given to all God’s creation.

The exhibit may be viewed weekdays and weekends from 09:00 a.m. – 05:00 p.m., at the Mariandale Retreat and Conference Center, 299 North Highland Avenue, Ossining, New York, 10562.
